In full pandemic, during the lockdown, two musicians from Casale Monferrato “met” without playing together. There was an unbridgeable distance between people, between souls, between thoughts. The emptiness, the bewilderment permeated (and still permeates) even daily gestures. Only music could bridge these distances. Thus was born Distances, an asynchronous creative act.

In some tracks (Obsessions, Distances) Enrico Ottone (formerly known as Saxassin on Asbestos Digit), plays and records freely, without any restrictions; his sax is then inserted, manipulated and arranged by Fabio Fazzi, who adds other elements (drones, guitars, percussion, effects).

In other tracks (Indian Blue Dream and Different Life, Different Time) Fabio Fazzi proposes a piece on which Enrico Ottone is invited to play (sax and clarinet). The track is then edited again with new elements or sounds.

Distances is an attempt to bridge the differences and mutual distrust between various styles and genres of music. Here we find all the background and mental openness to the most diverse genres: post rock, noise, minimalism, electronic music up to jazz, a passion that strongly unites the two protagonists of the record.
